What's inside
From vendor invoices to client billing — misencost covers the full financial picture so you can spend less time on spreadsheets.
Upload vendor CSVs and map SKUs to canonical ingredients in seconds. Price history is tracked automatically so you always know what changed.
Build recipes from ingredients and get live food cost percentages. Unit conversions (1 cs = 20 lb) let you cost any recipe regardless of how vendors sell.
Upload POS exports to track menu performance. Spot your highest-margin dishes and flag recipes going negative before it hurts the bottom line.
Invoice your catering clients, track payments, and generate professional PDFs with your logo — right from the same tool you use to manage food cost.
Keep all your distributors in one place. Compare pricing across vendors for the same item and get alerts when costs jump between invoice cycles.
Build menus from your costed recipes. Set target food cost percentages and see which items hit the mark — and which ones need a price or portion adjustment.
How it works
Drag in your vendor CSVs. Map SKUs to your canonical ingredients once — misencost handles the rest going forward.
Compose recipes from ingredients. Set yield quantities, menu prices, and target cost percentages.

Can I import from any vendor?
Yes. Any vendor that can export a CSV of their invoices works. You map the column headers once, and misencost remembers the format for future uploads.
What POS systems do you support for sales reports?
Any POS that exports a CSV with item name and quantity sold. We've tested with Toast, Square, and Clover, but the import is format-agnostic.
Does it handle multi-unit conversions?
Absolutely — that's a core feature. Define chains like 1 case = 6 cans = 96 oz and recipes can be costed in any unit in the chain.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your organization's data is fully isolated. We use Neon PostgreSQL with row-level tenant isolation, and we never share or sell your data.
